Why? Because an early-evening table on the Upper West is a pre-show staple.
We’re always looking for a reason to skip out of work early, and Kefi, the Greek restaurant run by Chef Michael Psilakis (Anthos, Mia Dona) is as good a reason as any. Arrive before 6 p.m. and get the three-course (go for the meatballs, Kefi burger and walnut cake) prix fixe for $16.95. You’ll have plenty of cash left for a bottle of wine from the all-Greek list and enough time to make it to Lincoln Center for something artsy.

ARTSY FIND OF THE WEEK:
THE METROPOLITAN OPERA
Why? Cheap seats for a landmark Wagner production are a must-grab (until May 9).
Speaking of Lincoln Center, you can score orchestra seats at the opera (normally $250+) for 20 bucks. The Met has 200 Varis Rush tickets each season for regular shows Monday-Thursday (Now on: Otto Schenk’s production of Richard Wagner’s Gotterdammerung). Check in two hours before curtain to see if they’re available.

AL FRESCO BAR OF THE WEEK:
GOWANUS YACHT CLUB
Why? Because Brooklyn’s best faux-nautical patio is finally open.
Not your Cape Cod yacht club, this joint was named for the so-polluted-it-cant-support-life Gowanus Canal. This bar has no indoor space, so it’s only open during the warmer months. They kicked off spring last weekend with a hot grill and plenty of cheap beer. Bring swim trunks. Just kidding?

ROADHOUSE OF THE WEEK:
DINOSAUR BAR-B-QUE
Why? Because this uptown rib joint lets us city boys get in on grilling season.
Dinosaur may have began upstate, but it’s Harlem Nights now at uptown’s finest low-down roadhouse. Recommendations? Well, the Big Ass Pork Plate is aptly named and amply spiced, and sides like Syracuse Salt Potatoes and Creole Potato Salad round out the deal. Also: Take a bottle of their Wango Tango Habanero Sauce home and put it on everything.
