Friday's game is the first Fireworks Friday of the year The second homestand of the year kicks off Friday, and this weekend is sure to be an exciting one for Reds fans thanks to a special ticket package, the first Fireworks Friday of the year, and a trio of great giveaways.

For the Reds vs. Braves series, fans can take advantage of purchasing a lower level ticket (Field Box) with a free Reds cap included for just $20 while supplies last, in advance of game day only. That’s a $52 value for less than half the price!


Also, Friday’s game is the first Fireworks Friday of the year, kicking off 10 great fireworks shows for 2009. The first 40,000 fans on Friday also receive the 2009 Team Photo, while the first 20,000 fans on Saturday receive a Reds Fleece Blanket. Plus, the first 10,000 kids on Sunday will receive their very own Brandon Phillips Gold Kids Glove!

Joey Votto, Jay Bruce and Brandon Phillips are all ready to go. Now, it’s up to Reds fans to decide which pitcher will round out this year’s collectible bobblehead set.

Vote Now! For the first time, Reds fans can vote online at reds.com to determine one of the team’s bobblehead giveaways. Voting runs through next Thursday, April 30, at noon EST, and fans can vote once per day for their favorite Reds pitcher. Then, be sure to catch the Reds vs. Brewers game on Saturday, July 18, to take home the winning bobblehead!

Time to get your running shoes on, show your Reds pride and help a great cause all at the same time!

The eighth-annual Redlegs Run for Home 5K takes place Saturday, May 30, with a 9 a.m. start time. Runners and walkers will begin on Mehring Way and continue on a course through downtown before ending back inside the ballpark near home plate. Plus, there’s a pair of shorter kids runs for the younger Reds fans.

All participants receive a race T-shirt, Reds ticket voucher and more. All proceeds benefit the Reds Community Fund’s youth baseball outreach efforts, so reserve your place today!

THIS DAY IN REDS HISTORY
April 23, 1919

The Reds open the season with a 6-2 win over the Cardinals at Redland Field, after the game ball was delivered by an Army plane flying low over the ballpark. The club went on to a 52-19 home mark that year en route to the franchise’s first World Series championship.

The first comes Tuesday, May 19, with Iams Bark in the Park as the Reds take on the Phillies. Make sure you get there early for contests and pet product samples in the Fan Zone, and sign up for the pregame parade on the field.
